Qualifications:
Texas Operator's License
Electrician Journeyman License
Ability to respond to emergency situations
Ability to read electrical blue prints
Physically able to lift 50 pounds
Ability to climb/carry ladders and work at elevated heights
Ability to use hand tools and power tools
Ability to comprehend written and verbal English
Primary Purpose:
Help maintain the physical school plant electrical needs in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use of it may be made at all times.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Equipment Used:
Multi-meter, ohmmeter, oscilloscope, and testing equipment; soldering iron; wire puller; pipe benders and threaders; hand and power tools (saw, drills, etc.); trencher, jackhammer; concrete saw, ladder. Light truck or van.
Working Conditions:
Maintain emotional control under stress. Continual walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, and heavy lifting ad carrying. Work in tiring and uncomfortable positions, around electrical power lines, outside and inside. Exposure to extreme temperatures. Frequent district wide travel. Position may be required to work at night.
