Network Engineer I - Operations Service Center

Location: Onsite - Suwanee, GA

Pay Rate: $36-$40/hour on W2

Schedule: Rotating shifts: Sunday-Thursday and Tuesday-Saturday

Job Summary

We are seeking a Network Engineer I with 3-5 years of experience in a Network Operations Center (NOC) environment. This role supports physical and virtual networking, firewall management, network monitoring, incident resolution, and customer support.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor network alerts and perform initial troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues.
• Manage support tickets, meet SLA requirements, and maintain customer satisfaction.
• Troubleshoot network ports, HSRP, OSPF, and routing issues.
• Perform firewall rule changes and manage prefix lists and access control lists.
• Analyze traceroutes to identify network connectivity issues.
• Create and maintain DNS records, including A, C, and MX records.
• Troubleshoot VPN connectivity and verify Phase 1 and Phase 2 configurations.
• Administer routers, switches, firewalls, and associated software.
• Triage and escalate incidents according to established procedures.
• Support network hardware and software upgrades.
• Document troubleshooting steps, ticket updates, and resolutions.
• Provide technical support through phone and ticket-based communications.

Required Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in a Network Operations Center (NOC) environment.
• Knowledge of networking concepts, including VLANs, BGP, OSPF, and MPLS.
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools and protocols such as SNMP and NetFlow.
• Understanding of firewall management, VPNs, DNS, and IP subnetting.
• General knowledge of DDoS attacks and traffic mitigation techniques.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tickets, prioritize incidents, and meet SLA requirements.
• Ability to work onsite in Suwanee, GA, and accommodate rotating shifts.
• U.S. citizenship required due to federal customer contract requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a data center or service provider environment.
• Familiarity with Juniper network devices and Junos.
• Exposure to NSX virtual networking.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, Network+, or Security+.
• Knowledge of ITIL processes and experience using ServiceNow.
