Junior Data Engineer Cybersecurity

Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and operate data pipelines supporting security analytics, detection engineering, threat hunting, vulnerability management, and compliance reporting
• Own end-to-end data lifecycle: ingestion normalization enrichment storage serving (dashboards, APIs, detection tools)
• Implement data quality controls (completeness, freshness, schema validation), lineage, and observability for security-critical pipelines
• Build and maintain Axonius adapters/integrations, ensuring reliable ingestion from core
• Apply security best practices to pipelines and platforms: least privilege, key management, secrets rotation, network segmentation, audit logging
• Partner with security stakeholders to translate detection/use-case requirements into data products
• Travel - Occasional, based on issues, system requirements, training, etc.
• Other projects or duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree with 0 to 2 years of related experience or High School Diploma/General Education Degree (GED) and 3 to 5 plus years of specific experience
• 1+ years supporting cybersecurity/security analytics or adjacent domains (observability/telemetry).
• Strong expertise with Axonius (adapters/integrations, correlation strategies, asset models, queries, enforcement actions/workflows).
• Proficiency in Python and SQL (data transformation, pipeline automation, and analytics).
• Proficiency in PowerBI dashboards
• Solid understanding of security telemetry sources and concepts:
• Endpoint/EDR, IAM, cloud logs, vulnerability scanning, network/security devices, SaaS audit logs

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Experience in Grafana, Terraform, and Ansible
• Hands-on experience building and operating cloud-based data pipelines (AWS/Azure/GCP).
