Junior Commercial Electrical Estimator

Position Summary

Universal Electrical Service, Inc. (UES) is seeking a Junior Commercial Electrical Estimator with hands-on commercial electrical construction field experience.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Commercial Electrician, Journeyman, Lead, or Foreman who wants to transition from the jobsite into estimating. With an excellent path into Project Management!

This is strictly a commercial electrical construction position. Maintenance technicians, mechanics, and candidates without commercial electrical construction experience will not be considered.

Responsibilities

• Review commercial electrical drawings, plans, and specifications.
• Perform electrical material and quantity takeoffs.
• Assist with labor and material pricing.
• Obtain vendor and subcontractor pricing.
• Assist with preparing competitive project bids.
• Identify project scope, exclusions, and potential issues.
• Work closely with Senior Estimators and Project Managers.
• Learn and utilize electrical estimating software and technology.
• Apply practical field experience to accurately estimate installation requirements.

Qualifications

• 5 - 8 years of hands-on commercial electrical construction experience.
• Experience working directly on commercial construction jobsites.
• Commercial Electrician, Journeyman, Lead, or Foreman experience preferred.
• Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and blueprints.
• Strong understanding of commercial electrical installation methods.
• Basic computer and Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Desire to build a career in electrical estimating.

Preferred: Journeyman experience, electrical apprenticeship completion, and/or previous estimating or takeoff experience.
