Junior Estimator

We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Estimator to support our construction estimating team. This position is ideal for someone looking to build a career in estimating while gaining hands-on experience with structural concrete, commercial, industrial, and transportation projects.

The Junior Estimator will assist with reviewing plans, completing quantity takeoffs, gathering pricing, and preparing competitive bids while working closely with estimating, project management, and operations.

Responsibilities

• Review construction drawings, specifications, addenda, and bid requirements.
• Complete quantity takeoffs for concrete, reinforcing steel, formwork, excavation, and related scopes.
• Assist in developing estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted work.
• Request, track, and compare supplier and subcontractor quotes.
• Identify scope gaps and prepare questions for clarification.
• Help prepare proposals, bid packages, and supporting documentation.
• Maintain organized estimating files, pricing records, and bid logs.
• Attend site visits, pre-bid meetings, and project handoff meetings as needed.
• Assist with change order pricing and comparisons of estimated costs to actual project costs.

Qualifications

• Strong math, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Ability to read construction plans, or a demonstrated willingness to learn.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and follow through on assigned tasks.

Preferred Experience

• Up to two years of construction, estimating, takeoff, or related experience; entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.
• Coursework or a degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar takeoff software.
• Familiarity with concrete construction, sitework, or FDOT projects.
• Field construction experience is a plus.
