This is an all-encompassing role that spans the full product lifecycle: customer requirement decomposition, design, development, certification, manufacturing support, assembly & test, and recurring field support. It is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who is passionate about aerospace manufacturing and wants hands-on involvement with mission-critical hardware.
Key Responsibilities
Apply engineering knowledge to support the design of life-support hardware and systems, including CAD solid modeling, analysis, drafting, and configuration management.
Provide engineering support to Assembly & Test; analyze test results against design specifications and objectives, and recommend or implement adjustments as needed.
Support Production, Purchasing, and Quality departments and collaborate closely with other engineers across the organization.
Plan, coordinate, and execute design trades and analyses; prepare and present final reports.
Conduct materials research and assist in the development of material specifications.
Generate and maintain engineering documentation including drawings, 3D models, Bills of Material, fabrication and test plans/procedures.
Provide engineering recommendations to support company objectives, policies, and process specifications.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager.
Required Qualifications

Proficiency in SolidWorks (or similar CAD software) and the Microsoft Office suite.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and engineering drawing standards.
Exposure to AS9100 quality management systems or aerospace manufacturing processes.
Coursework or experience with pressure systems, fluid mechanics, or life-support related technologies.
Experience with configuration management or product data management (PDM) tools.
Interest in or prior exposure to NASA, defense, or spaceflight programs.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
Frequent desk-based computer work interspersed with time on the manufacturing floor and in the clean room.
Extended periods working in a clean-room environment while wearing provided clean-rated apparel (smock, hair/shoe covers, gloves, etc.).
Ability to operate pressure systems and test equipment, and to use hand tools for assembly and testing of pressure-suit hardware.
Occasional lifting of objects up to 50 pounds.
Visual acuity sufficient for detailed work with small hardware, blueprints, and magnification devices.
Ability to manage multiple complex tasks requiring sustained mental concentration.
Some areas of the facility are not climate-controlled.
Occasional travel to customer sites, conferences, vendors, and suppliers may be required.
Additional Requirements
