Junior Project Manager

A growing commercial HVAC contractor is seeking a Junior Project Manager to support mechanical projects from startup through closeout. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with some construction or project coordination experience who wants to develop their skills and grow into independently managing projects.

The Junior Project Manager will assist with schedules, materials, field coordination, subcontractors, project documentation, and client communication. This person will work closely with experienced project leadership while learning the technical and operational sides of commercial HVAC project management.

The ideal candidate is organized, responsible, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple moving parts in a fast paced construction environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support commercial HVAC and mechanical projects from startup through closeout

• Assist with project schedules and day to day coordination

• Coordinate materials and equipment based on project requirements and timelines

• Communicate with field teams, subcontractors, vendors, and internal departments

• Maintain project documentation and track outstanding items

• Assist with client communication and project updates

• Help coordinate field activities to keep projects moving according to schedule

• Track material orders, deliveries, deadlines, and project requirements

• Identify potential issues and communicate them to project leadership

• Assist with project closeout documentation and completion requirements

• Learn all aspects of commercial HVAC project management with the goal of growing into full project ownership

Qualifications:

• 1+ year of relevant construction, project coordination, field, or similar experience preferred

• HVAC or mechanical construction exposure is a strong plus

• Strong organizational and follow through skills

• Proactive and willing to take ownership of responsibilities

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines

• Strong communication and problem solving skills

• Comfortable communicating with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and field teams

• Basic understanding of construction plans, schedules, or project documentation is a plus

• Eager to learn commercial HVAC and mechanical project management

• Motivated to grow into independently managing projects from startup through completion

Location: Long Island / NYC / NJ

Type: Full time

Salary: $60,000 to $85,000/year
