Position Title: Junior Structural Engineer
Pay: $28$33.65/hour (DOE)
Location: Alabaster, AL
Position Summary:
We are seeking a Junior Structural Engineer to support the structural analysis and design of electric utility substation structures and foundations. This position will work with senior engineers and designers to analyze steel structures, foundations, and equipment supports using STAAD.Pro and other engineering software.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform structural analysis and design for utility substation projects
- Analyze steel frames, equipment supports, bus supports, and foundations
- Develop structural models using STAAD.Pro
- Prepare engineering calculations, reports, and construction documents
- Review equipment loads and vendor drawings
- Ensure designs meet applicable codes and client standards
- Coordinate with engineers, designers, and project managers
Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis
- FE Exam passed / EIT certification
- 02 years of structural engineering experience
- Experience with STAAD.Pro or similar structural analysis software
- Interest in steel design and structural analysis
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:- Previous structural engineering internship or professional experience
- Experience analyzing steel structures or foundations
- Familiarity with electric utility or substation projects
- Interest in utility structural design rather than traditional building or bridge design
