Position Overview

Huntington Learning Center is seeking a passionate K–12 Academic Tutor to join our team! In this role, you will help students grow in essential reading, writing, and math skills. You’ll have the opportunity to work one-on-one or in small groups, focusing on reading comprehension, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and elementary to middle school math, covering topics like number sense, fractions, word problems, and pre-algebra. This is an ideal opportunity for educators who thrive in a dynamic environment and love building academic habits that set students up for long-term success.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver personalized instruction in reading, writing, and math

• Support students in developing strong skills in areas like vocabulary, grammar, spelling, and math fluency

• Assist students with school readiness and study strategies

• Implement curated lesson plans designed to meet individual student needs

• Create an encouraging, student-centered learning environment

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required (Education or related field preferred)

• Experience teaching or tutoring K-12 students in reading, writing, and math

• Ability to teach both reading/writing and fundamental to intermediate math concepts

• Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students

• Patient, adaptable, and enthusiastic about engaging with students of all ages

• Committed to fostering students’ growth and academic confidence
