Position Summary

The K-5 Elementary English Language Arts Specialist will provide leadership, expertise and oversight to K-5 ELA programs, services and initiatives that support our county districts and Public School Academies. They will facilitate and lead efforts that focus on research-based practices to improve outcomes in reading and writing for K-5 students. They will support and assist district/building leaders and classroom teachers with the most current knowledge around the implementation of effective literacy practices. They will serve on county and state level committees, associations, and networks.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in elementary education required.
• Master's degree in early literacy, child development, elementary education, reading, language arts, curriculum development, educational leadership, or related area required.
• Prefer thirty graduate hours beyond the master's degree.
• Valid Michigan teacher certificate required. Completion of LETRs training.
• Minimum five years of teaching experience required. District leadership experience required.

Compensation & Benefits

Pay Range: $68,422 - $89,275 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications

Work Schedule: 187 days / 7.5 hours daily

Paid Time Off:

• Sick Days - 10
• Personal Business Days - 3
• Bereavement Leave
