Position Summary
Partner with and support wholesale distributors and independent grocery retailers by planning promotional activity, selling new products, and merchandising.
Essential Job Functions
- Responsible for annual volume and profit objectives and additional goals as defined.
- Create sales programs and make presentations to customers within the assigned area.
- Manage existing accounts; ensure product flow and service levels meet or exceed customer contracts and expectations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve customer issues and develop relationships with key personnel within assigned accounts.
- Manage and direct multiple brokers; assign annual sales and P&L objectives.
- Manage trade spend, including promotions and pricing.
- Work with Nielsen data and the Marketing department to create sales opportunities.
- Conduct store calls, periodic price checks, and slotting for company and competitor products.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, or three years of related sales experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- Nielsen product analysis experience.
- Two years of experience in the food industry.
- Direct experience driving mix and margin of meat sales in an independent retail sales environment.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Experience presenting data to new and prospective customers.
- Excellent computer skills (MS Office).
- Strong communication skills.
- Self-motivated, dependable, organized, and possessing a strong work ethic.
- Exceptional people skills with the ability to follow projects through to completion.
Environmental / Working Conditions
Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, including overnight stays for up to five days at a time.

Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for at least four hours.
Ability to regularly lift and move 30-pound boxes or containers on and off shelves or carts/hand trucks.
Ability to repeatedly twist, turn, kneel, stoop, stand, rotate, bend, push, or pull to move up to 30 pounds.
