The Opportunity:
The Fletcher Maynard Academy seeks an experienced early childhood teacher to join our caring and innovative community to teach JK/K. Given our current model, it's likely that most students in the group will be Kindergarten students, and there will be a few JK students in the group as well. The successful candidate will have experience planning, implementing, and adapting the JK/K curriculum based on the Massachusetts State Frameworks and/or the Common Core. S/he will set high expectations for all students and utilize scaffolding and differentiation to support students. The teacher will have an appreciation and awareness of the unique developmental needs of young people in this age band. As a professional, the teacher will display a collegial spirit that supports and enhances continual professional growth consistent with the educational goals and philosophies of the Fletcher Maynard Academy and be fully committed to continuously learning, improving, reflecting, and working together as a community to ensure that all students achieve at high levels. Applicants with training in culturally responsive instruction are highly preferred. All candidates must be open to engaging in conversations about the intersection between race and education__critical conversations that ground our improvement efforts.
