    Kitchen/Laundry Tech

    SUMMARY

    The Kitchen/Laundry Tech is responsible for maintaining the hotel kitchen and laundry equipment, ensuring that all equipment is in proper working condition.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    Job duties include; although are not limited to:

    • Performing all repairs and maintenance on kitchen and laundry related disciplines; including but not limited to, stoves, ovens and toasters, dish machines, steamers, salamanders, and laundry equipment
    • Scheduling and prioritizing all kitchen and laundry related requests for the hotel
    • Maintaining and controlling inventory through established pars for all necessary parts, tools, and equipment
    • Maintaining the hotel's OSHA/Safety programs within the kitchen and laundry shop
    • Maintaining cleanliness, utilizing personal protection equipment when necessary, and reporting any potential hazards

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • High School Diploma or equivalent education required
    • Expertise in all phases of plumbing through Vo-Tech graduate, Trade sponsored training program completion, factory/commercial education program completion or equal experience at a similar facility for a minimum of five (5) years
    • Minimum of one (1) to two (2) years' experience in a hotel or resort environment preferred
    • Exceptional communication skills
    • Must possess basic computer skills

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems. Lifting, pushing, pulling and carrying required frequently to respond to requests for service and repairs anywhere in hotel. Frequent bending and kneeling required to perform inspections and repairs. Potential continuous standing may be required. Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis. This position requires manual dexterity, grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability, and visual acuity.
