Kitchen Line Cook – Worthington, OH

The Kitchen Line Cook prepares and cooks food items according to established recipes, portion requirements, and quality standards. This role supports daily kitchen operations by preparing ingredients, maintaining food quality, following sanitation procedures, and working collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure efficient service.

Responsibilities

• Prepare a variety of food items, including salads, sauces, side dishes, appetizers, and garnishes.

• Wash, peel, slice, portion, and mix vegetables, fruits, pasta, and other ingredients.

• Prepare and measure ingredients for dressings, sauces, salads, and other hot and cold dishes according to established recipes.

• Carve and slice meats and cheeses as required.

• Follow portion standards and preparation procedures to maintain consistent food quality and control product costs.

• Maintain proper personal hygiene and wear a clean, appropriate uniform.

• Respond to guest questions and assist with requests or concerns when needed.

• Work cooperatively with management and kitchen team members to support daily operations.

• Follow applicable food safety, health, sanitation, and workplace safety guidelines.

• Use kitchen equipment and materials properly and report unsafe conditions.

• Follow emergency procedures and established workplace policies.

• Complete assigned duties efficiently while maintaining cleanliness and quality standards.

Qualifications

• One to three years of restaurant experience preferred.

• Food safety certification, such as ServSafe, preferred.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality.

• Ability to follow recipes, portion standards, and preparation procedures.

• Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.

• Dependable, punctual, and self-motivated.

• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen.

• Willingness to learn and develop culinary skills.
