Shirley's Bistro is seeking a hands-on Kitchen Manager to lead daily kitchen operations, support our team, and deliver consistently delicious food. We are looking for strong cooking skills, clear communication, and a calm, organized approach to busy service.
Manage and lead prep and service, working alongside the back of house staff.
Train and coach back of house staff; coordinate schedules and station assignments for the back of house staff.
Manage ordering, receiving, inventory, and food storage.
Maintain consistent recipes, portions, food quality, and presentation.
Monitor food and labor costs; minimize waste and prevent shortages.
Maintain food safety, sanitation, and cleaning standards.
Coordinate with front-of-house staff and ownership to keep service running smoothly.
Experience leading a restaurant kitchen as a manager, sous chef, or lead cook.
Strong cooking skills and experience managing prep and service.
Familiarity with inventory, ordering, portion control, and cost management.
Dependable, respectful leadership and clear communication under pressure.
Availability for flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed; required food safety certification or willingness to obtain it before starting.
