Location: Washington, D.C. (Hybrid)

Salary: $240,000 – $275,000

Must Have The Following:
  • J.D. with active bar license in good standing
  • 4 years practicing law within a large global law firm
  • Strong litigation practice experience and legal workflow knowledge
  • Knowledge Management (KM) and legal operations exposure
  • Experience with legal technology, document automation, eDiscovery, and generative AI tools
  • Ability to create and maintain legal precedents, training materials, and practice resources
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience collaborating across attorneys, innovation, technology, and business teams
Responsibilities:

Our growing client is seeking a Knowledge Strategy Lawyer to support its Litigation Practice Group and help drive innovation, knowledge management, and AI-powered legal solutions across the practice. This role is ideal for an attorney who enjoys combining legal expertise with technology, process improvement, and strategic collaboration. Key responsibilities include:

  • Partner with practice leadership and attorneys to develop and execute knowledge management and innovation strategies
  • Build, organize, maintain, and improve core practice resources including templates, model documents, practice notes, checklists, and training materials
  • Collaborate with attorneys and business teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and technology adoption
  • Evaluate, pilot, and support implementation of legal technology platforms, generative AI tools, document automation systems, and workflow solutions
  • Assist with development and refinement of AI prompts and workflows tailored to legal use cases
  • Conduct matter debriefs and gather attorney feedback to improve knowledge sharing and operational efficiency
  • Maintain repositories of precedents, pitch materials, and client-facing content
  • Monitor legal and market developments and support thought leadership initiatives, alerts, and current awareness communications
  • Deliver training sessions related to KM systems, legal technology, AI tools, and best practices
  • Mentor attorneys and promote adoption of knowledge management resources across the practice
  • Serve as a liaison between attorneys, innovation teams, technology groups, and business services departments
  • Support business development initiatives and assist with maintaining reusable proposal and client materials
Requirements:
  • J.D. degree with active bar membership in good standing
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience practicing law within a large law firm environment
  • Strong understanding of litigation workflows, legal research, and practice operations
  • Passion for legal innovation, knowledge sharing, and improving attorney efficiency
  • Experience with legal technology platforms, eDiscovery tools, document automation, or generative AI solutions
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex concepts clearly
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • High attention to detail and strong professional judgment
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Experience creating legal training materials, precedents, guides, or thought leadership content preferred
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
