A family in Miami is seeking afull-time chef. Their current chef of 8 years is heading back to the UK. The family ideally would love a chef with dual UK/US citizenship, but is open to a chef with excellent experience that would be accepted when applying for a visa for the UK. The schedule is Sunday through Thursday. The family is seeking someone with Michelin experience. The family is primarily based in Miami, but travels heavily to NY, Aspen and the UK. This is a heavy travel role. They are seeking longevity and looking to hire immediately.
Responsibilities:
Prior experience as a private chef
Michelin experience is required
Excellent chef able to cook a range of cuisines (mediterranean, French, Japanese/sushi, Levant, Indian). Must have excellent training
Longevity in private home roles
Focus on clean, healthy cooking. No sugars, low fat etc.
Sourcing and purchasing of organic and high quality ingredients.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner primarily for 2 principals but sometimes family members (making total 6 people). Occasional entertaining of wider family and friends.
For the visa, either we find a dual US-UK national for the role. Or we can apply for an O1 visa for the correct candidate subject to their previous experience being suitable for an application.
Must have a valid driver's license
Accommodations covered everywhere but Miami.
TRAVEL SCHEDULE:
January - early May: Miami Early May - end of June: London July: Chef has a month off for vacation August - mid September: Aspen Mid-September - Thanksgiving: London Thanksgiving: Usually a week in the US but could be subject to change (and usually it is Miami) Early December: London Late December: Aspen In between all this the chef would also be in New York for a few weeks of the year, usually scattered throughout. The family also travel to holiday destinations at other times and don’t usually take the chef with them, unless it’s somewhere they are concerned about the food.
Requirements:
Legal to work in the US
Michelin experience is required
US/UK citizenship is a plus
Prior experience as a private chef with longevity
Living locally in Miami or a commutable distance
Comfortable with the heavy travel schedule notated above
