Lab and Field Test Support

Field Test Engineer with 3+ years of experience in embedded software, Python, and Wi-Fi technologies to support the development and testing of routers and gateways for Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in the United States.

The successful candidate will support lab quality assurance (QA) environments, monitor Friendly User Test (FUT) participants, troubleshoot reported issues, coordinate lab organization and expansion, and assist with field performance testing and issue triage.

This role requires a hands-on professional with strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work onsite in a collaborative engineering and testing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lab Setup and QA Support: Set up, configure, and monitor lab QA environments to ensure testing activities run smoothly.

• Friendly User Test (FUT) Monitoring: Monitor FUT participants, track feedback, and triage reported issues to support product quality and performance.

• Issue Investigation and Troubleshooting: Analyze reported problems, identify potential causes, and coordinate with relevant engineering teams to support resolution.

• Lab Organization and Expansion: Maintain an organized and efficient lab environment and assist with planning and preparing for upcoming lab expansion.

• Field Performance Testing: Support field testing activities to evaluate router and gateway performance under real-world conditions.

• Test Execution and Reporting: Assist with test execution, document test results, track issues, and communicate findings to the relevant teams.

• Technical Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, QA, and other stakeholders to identify, investigate, and resolve product-related issues.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in embedded software, software testing, field testing, or a related technical role.

• Experience with Python scripting for testing, automation, troubleshooting, or data analysis.

• Strong understanding of Wi-Fi technologies and wireless connectivity.

• Familiarity with LTE/5G technologies and wireless communication systems.

• Experience setting up and monitoring test environments or laboratory equipment.

• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Good communication and documentation skills.

• Ability to work onsite in Dallas, TX, five days per week.
