Lab Tech II-NSKNG

Basic Job Functions:

The role of the Lab Tech II is to conduct mechanical and dimensional testing for the Rolling Mill to cerify compliance with material standards. The technician must be able to accurately record information in a computer database, be proficient with machinery and testing equipment, be able to gather samples from the mill according to relevant work instructions, and must work safely in a team-oriented, fast-paced work environment while remaining focused on quality. Safety is an important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead and uphold safety policies, procedures and housekeeping standards to make safety a priority at all times. 

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be able to perform all essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
• Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, rotating shifts and scheduled and unscheduled overtime

Preferred Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of steel industry stands, steel grades, and Quality Systems. 
• Manufacturing experience, preferable in steel production.
