Laboratory/Pathologists Assistant

We are looking for a NYS licensed (now or by start date) PA to cover an FMLA at our main hospital location. The assignment would ideally start 1/4/2027 and run for four months, though as discussed, that might change slightly. Hours are Mon-Fri 8-4:30, no weekends, call, etc

Required:
NY license
ASCP-PA
1+ year of experience
Hospital clinical laboratory
epic charting

Details:
Average 200 blocks Daily.
must be able to cut and stain Frozen sections.
Specimens consist of Breast resections, uterus, lung and colon resections. Heavy Breast service.
Must be able to triage fresh tissue for lymphoma work ups and identify glomeruli for medical renal cores.
Staff includes 4 pathologists and 6 Histotechs.

LOCAL RULE: 50 miles
The Albany Health System is now moving forward with a more easy to determine limit, by county. So, effective immediately we will not be signing new contracts with travelling nurses whose listed primary residence is in any of the following counties. This will likely impact extensions as well, but let s take that on a case-by-case basis. Please bring them to my attention when we look to renew and I will provide you a decision.
