Position / Specialty: Phlebotomist and EKG
Shift: 5x8 D/N mix of 4:30 AM-1PM and 9PM-530AM Shifts
Years of experience REQ: Minimum 1 year experience required
First-timers accepted: Yes
Weekend REQ: Will work every other weekend
Certs REQ: PBT preferred.
Is on-call REQ? No.
Will clinician float within scope to meet facility needs? May float to Mercy-Unity campus if needed.

Locals accepted: No- must live at least 100 miles from facility to apply.
Pending License accepted: Yes.
RTO Restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days.
Guaranteed Hours: Client may cancel up to 3 shifts at any time for any assigned Aya Candidate without any penalty or obligation to pay Aya for such cancelled time. On-call hours do not count towards the guaranteed minimum hours.
Special Requirements: Required Work Setting Experience: Hospital. Required Collection Skills/Experience: CLSI recommended Order of blood draws, Gray top (Fluoride, Potassium Oxalate), Green Top (Heparin, Ammonia), Light blue top tubes (coagulation), Post venipuncture site care, Prioritize patient collections based on order request (stat, timed, routine), Purple top (EDTA), Red top tubes (plain), Understand Mode of action of additives/anticoagulants in blood collection tubes. Required Equipment Skills/Experience: Blood culture bottles, Heel warmers, Vacutainer holder, Vacutainer tubes. Required General venipuncture method Skills/Experience: Syringe method, Vacutainer method. Required Method of transport Skills/Experience: Deliver specimens to laboratory (time). Required Pediatric Phlebotomy Procedure Skills/Experience: Finger stick, Heel stick, Neonatal screening panel. Required Special Collection Procedures Skills/Experience: Blood culture, Mastectomy patient, Peak & Trough Drug Levels. Required Professional Knowledge and Skills: Aseptic Technique, Blood specimen storage, Proper labeling, Standard precautions, Transmission based precautions.
