Job Summary
Entry-level laboratory role performing routine food and feed testing to support food safety, quality, and operations. Responsibilities include sample preparation, equipment monitoring, result documentation, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
· Perform routine analytical testing on food and feed products.
· Test raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products.
· Prepare samples using laboratory grinding equipment.
· Monitor laboratory instruments and equipment performance.
· Perform calibration checks, preventive maintenance, and simple repairs.
· Interpret and accurately document laboratory test results.
· Enter results into laboratory databases and communicate findings to internal teams.
· Maintain customer specification books and laboratory documentation.
· Conduct quantitative and qualitative laboratory inspections.
· Support food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
· Assist with complex laboratory trials and experiments under supervision.
· Perform routine clerical, administrative, and technical laboratory tasks.
· Read and follow safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance manuals, and laboratory procedures.
· Write routine reports and correspondence.
· Escalate complex technical issues to appropriate personnel.

Required Skills & Qualifications
· Entry-level laboratory experience is acceptable.
· Strong attention to detail.
· Ability to follow laboratory procedures and safety protocols.
· Ability to perform repetitive testing and sample preparation.
· Good documentation and record-keeping skills.
· Basic computer skills for data entry.
· Ability to work independently with intermediate supervision.
· Good written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to read and interpret laboratory and safety documentation.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
· Food testing laboratory environment.
· Operate grinding equipment throughout the workday.
· Handle approximately 100-gram laboratory samples.
· Perform repetitive sample preparation and testing.
· Work safely while wearing required PPE.
· Sample preparation takes place in a dedicated grinding room with specialized airflow systems to reduce airborne particles.
