MCV Law is seeking a Landlord Services Manager. This on-site position focuses on managing the Eviction Litigation Practice. Key Responsibilities include:
•Eviction Workflow Oversight: Oversee the daily, high-volume lifecycle of eviction cases from initial landlord intake and statutory notice drafting to court filing, hearings, and marshal/sheriff execution.
•Practice Area Billing & Invoicing: Manage the monthly billing cycle for all eviction matters; draft, review, and finalize pre-bills, ensuring accurate application of flat fees, hourly rates, and pass-through costs.
•Disbursement & Expense Tracking: Track and reconcile third-party vendor expenses, including process server fees, court filing fees, and local courier costs, ensuring they are accurately billed back to the client.
•On-Site Team Leadership: Provide direct, face-to-face management, training, and workload balancing for legal assistants in a fast-paced office environment.
•Strict Quality Control: Audit physical and digital case files to ensure absolute accuracy in names, amounts owed, addresses, and statutory timelines before documents are sent out for service or e-filed.
•Docket & Deadline Management: Maintain and monitor the master eviction calendar, ensuring no deadlines are missed for notices, court appearances, or order submissions.
•Vendor & Court Coordination: Serve as the primary point of contact for process servers, local court clerks, and law enforcement agencies to expedite the processing and execution of eviction warrants.
•Client Escalations: Act as the direct supervisor link for major property management clients, providing status updates on delayed files and troubleshooting complex compliance issues.
•Performance Metrics: Track and report daily case volumes, filing turnaround times, and team bottlenecks.
Required Qualifications
• Experience: Minimum of 4–6 years in civil litigation or landlord-tenant practice.
• Active Paralegal Certificate or a Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, Accounting, or Business Administration.
• Billing Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of legal billing workflows, flat-fee billing systems, and cost tracking/disbursements within a law firm setting.
• Subject Matter Expertise: Deep, practical knowledge of local housing court rules, summary proceedings, non-payment/holdover protocols, and the specific mechanics of the eviction process.
• Presence: Ability to work fully on-site Monday through Friday, providing the hands-on leadership required to keep physical workflows moving efficiently.
• Attention to Detail: An exceptional eye for detail; an understanding that a single typographical or billing error can delay an eviction case or disrupt client relationships.
Compensation ranges from $30 to $38 per hour and is dependent on experience. Candidates with extensive experience in Eviction Practice may be eligible for additional compensation plus a year-end performance bonus.
Benefits include health insurance, Life Insurance, Long Term Disability, Paid Parking, Holidays, PTO, Summer Fridays and 401k (subject to eligibility).
MCV Law is proud to offer competitive pay, benefits, and a team-centric environment in our growing practice. The office is friendly and the firm values work-life balance. Applicants can expect to work alongside team members who value integrity, dedication, and professionalism.
