Position Title: Estimator

The Opportunity

If you're the kind of estimator who takes pride in building accurate numbers, enjoys solving complex projects, and wants to work with a team that values quality over shortcuts, we'd like to meet you.

Rine Landscape Group is one of Central Ohio's premier high-end residential landscape companies. As we continue to grow, we're investing in our people, systems, and technology—and we're looking for an Estimator to help us deliver profitable projects and set our production team up for success.

You'll estimate everything from high-end landscape renovations to six-figure estate installations featuring hardscape, planting, grading, drainage, lighting, irrigation, and outdoor living spaces.

If you enjoy working with good people, modern systems, and exceptional projects—and want your work to have a meaningful impact—you'll fit in well here.

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare accurate estimates from drawings, specifications, and related project information.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs for labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and all associated project costs.
  • Build and manage estimates using LMN by Granum.
  • Develop and maintain estimating templates, production rate libraries, assemblies, and takeoff systems.
  • Prepare proposal support documents for the sales team.
  • Assemble complete project files including drawings, details, specifications, purchase orders, permits, subcontractor information, equipment requirements, and related documentation.
  • Prepare organized production hand-off packages for sold work.
  • Support procurement coordination, preconstruction planning, and change order pricing.
  • Participate in transition meetings between sales and production.
  • Review completed project costs and production feedback to continually improve estimating accuracy.
  • Help strengthen and document estimating systems, workflows, and standard operating procedures.

Who You Are

  • 2–4 years of estimating experience in landscape design-build or closely related construction trades.
  • Proficient in LMN by Granum — this is one of the most important evaluation criteria for this position.
  • Strong quantity takeoff skills with the ability to confidently build estimates from construction plans.
  • Experience developing or maintaining estimating templates, production rate libraries, and assemblies.
  • Experience estimating high-end residential landscape projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret landscape architectural plans and construction drawings.
  • Excellent organization, attention to detail, and accountability.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Strongly Preferred

  • Project management experience or exposure.
  • Experience collaborating with landscape designers, architects, project managers, or general contractors.
  • Familiarity with LeanScaper or similar landscape business software.

The Right Character

  • You take ownership. If something isn't right, you fix it.
  • You enjoy building systems and improving processes—not just following them.
  • You are proactive and think several steps ahead.
  • You value accuracy because you understand that every estimate impacts profitability and client satisfaction.
  • You communicate professionally and work well across multiple departments.
  • You want to build a long-term career with a company that values quality over volume.
