Landscape Construction Laborer

About the Role

This full-time contract-to-hire position offers the opportunity to work on diverse residential and commercial landscape projects in Birmingham, AL. The role is designed for individuals who thrive in physically demanding environments and are passionate about delivering high-quality work. As part of a dedicated team, you will contribute to building exceptional landscapes while developing your skills in the field.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform physical tasks such as digging, hauling, loading, unloading, and moving materials including stone, sand, soil, mulch, and plants.
• Assist with hardscape and softscape installations, including retaining walls, patios, pathways, trees, shrubs, and turfgrass.
• Conduct demolition, site preparation, and cleanup activities.
• Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
• Maintain clean, organized, and professional job sites.

Minimum Requirements

• 2-5 years of experience in landscape construction or related labor.
• Proven reliability, with consistent on-time attendance and readiness to work.
• Ability to follow directions and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
• Valid driver's license.
• Capability to carry up to 80 pounds.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check, including motor vehicle reporting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Spanish language skills are strongly preferred, with bilingual English/Spanish candidates especially encouraged.

Physical Requirements

• Strength, stamina, and mobility to perform physical work outdoors, including bending, stretching, and lifting in all weather conditions.
• Ability to access and navigate bulk yards, loading areas, office space, and other facilities.

Work Environment

• Onsite work with a schedule starting at 6:30 AM and ending between 4:30 and 5:30 PM.
• Year-round work with steady hours through winter and paid overtime.
