LANDSCAPE CREW LEADER FULL TIME $23.31 per hour – Non-exempt Class specifications are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties employees perform in the class. Position Overview: This position is responsible for supervising the maintenance and beautification of the Effingham County Board of Commissioners parks and grounds. Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions**): Assigns work to assigned staff, including park maintenance, chemical application, irrigation repairs, litter pickup, athletic field mowing and landscape installation through Effingham County. Prepares baseball fields; removes bases; blows clay and sand from dugouts; repairs pitchers’ mound and home plates; drags the infields with steel mat; removes clay from base stubs; inserts bases; chalks boxes, circles, and lines; tamps pitchers’ mound and home plate; drains water from infields; spreads sand on fields.
Regular and routine attendance at work is required. ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS Provides assistance to other employees or departments as needed. Performs other related duties as required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or GED, supplemented by 5 months of previous experience and/or training involving grounds maintenance or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
