Your Mission
Enable new manufacturing capabilities at Hadrian’s FX facility by commissioning equipment, iterating processes, and documenting methods so production can scale confidently. Whether you’re just starting out or you’re an experienced NPI pro, you’ll have meaningful ownership from day one.
What You Will Do
- Stand up and refine capabilities across: laser cutting, resistance/spot welding, hand soldering, water jet operation, and general assembly.
- Operate, debug, and bring online new tools immediately upon delivery to the factory floor.
- Work shoulder-to-shoulder with process and manufacturing engineers to iterate NPI builds.
- Create robust setup guides, capture process parameters, and summarize key findings for transfer to production.
- Cross-train across domains and support the FX R&D team as it consolidates and grows.
Are You This Person?
- Hands-on experience with one or more: laser cutting, resistance/spot welding, hand soldering, water jet operation.
- Thrive in an ambiguous, fast-paced R&D or NPI environment where standards are still being defined.
- Natural troubleshooter who figures things out on the shop floor.
- Able to document steps and parameters so that others can reproduce results.
- Eager to expand into new tools and processes as needs evolve.
Bonus Points
- Background in R&D at SpaceX or comparable NPI programs (e.g., Starship), including hand laser welding, spot welding, laser cutting, or robot operations.
- History of supporting multiple programs simultaneously and adapting to shifting priorities.
- Familiarity with hand-held laser welders and general assembly work in addition to core joining/cutting skills.
- Experience onboarding and coaching junior technicians on new equipment.
