Lathe Operator

Join a 4th generation business that has been family-owned for over 125 years!  We began as a mineral-exploration drilling company in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania in 1900, and have adapted with the times to become a manufacturer, in addition to the drilling side of the business.  Our McKees Rocks (Pittsburgh) manufacturing location is seeking a machine operator to join our team!We offer competitive benefits (medical, vision, dental) as well as Short Term disability, 401k, and eligibility for year-end bonus! 

In this role, you will:

• Set up, maintain and operate machinery, while ensuring the interminable and efficient production running
• Set up machines (calibration, cleaning etc.) to start a production cycle
• Control and adjust machine settings (e.g. speed)
• Feed raw material or parts to semi-automated machines
• Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools
• Test operation of machines periodically
• Fix issues that might occur during the shift
• Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws
• Keep records of approved and defective units or final products
• Maintain activity logs
• Operate hand tools and other equipment.
• Maintain company equipment and tools.

The ideal candidate will have:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience working in manufacturing, preferred.
• Need problem-solving capabilities and ability to work productively as part of a team
• Mechanical ability and attention to detail, required.
• OSHA 40 certification is a plus
• Knowledge of safety policies and procedures.
• Must be trustworthy and dependable
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
