Position Details

• Type: Permanent (direct hire)
• Salary: Up to $105,000 (commensurate with experience)
• Reports to: School Director
• Start Date: 2026–2027 school year
• Hours: 7:30 AM to 4:45 PM, plus some responsibilities outside school hours

Curriculum & Instruction

• Teach Latin and Debate across several grade levels
• Deliver standards-aligned lessons from a rigorous, established classical curriculum
• Refine lessons for clarity, rigor and relevance with support from instructional coaches
• Drive gap-closing gains so students reach mastery of New York State Standards

Data Analysis

• Collect and analyze academic and behavior data to identify student needs
• Work with colleagues and coaches on data-driven instructional improvements

Culture

• Run a structured classroom built on respect, responsibility and citizenship
• Build warm, positive relationships with students so learning feels joyful every day
• Partner with families to share progress and celebrate wins

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or graduate degree in History, Classics, Education or a related field, OR at least 3 years of teaching experience
• Experience teaching, reading and speaking Latin (required)
• Strong classroom management skills
• Teaching certification preferred
• Experience at a high-performing charter school preferred
• Excellent work ethic and organizational skills
