LAUNDRY AIDE

JOB REQUIREMENTS Education Required Must be able to read and write as well as do simple arithmetic. Needs mechanical aptitude and ability to follow oral and written instructions and work with limited supervision. Experience Previous experience helpful. An inexperienced worker will need three to five days of instructions and at least 30 days on-the-job training under the direction of supervisor to perform satisfactorily. Physical Normal hospital environment. Some exposure to changes in temperatures, fumes, and water. Normal/corrected eyesight. Hearing of normal and soft tones. Distinguish smells. Distinguish temperature by touch and proximity. Operates laundry processing equipment. Lifting, carrying up to 25lbs. Pushing/pulling up to 350 lbs. JOB SUMMARY Perform various duties related to sorting, folding, drying, stocking carts, and transporting linen to ensure a productive flow of linen to hospital departments.
