Primary Objective of LaundryAttendant Position

To maintain the condition of all hotel linenin accordance with the standards of Bartell Hotels through efficient cleaningand processing

Responsibilities

• Insuresmaximum cleaning effectiveness by sorting laundry prior to washing according tofabric type, color, item or soil concentration
• Pulls damaged and/or stained linen prior to loading washers 
• Insuresmaximum loading capacity by weighing bed linens prior to washing
• Loadswashers and dryers to recommended weights
• Saves energyby setting dryers for proper heating and cooling times
• Places onlyproper linens in the dryer to be dried
• Operates,maintains, and cleans laundry and equipment according to company standards
• Informssupervisor or management of any mechanical failures or supply shortages, socorrective action can be implemented
• Presses andfolds all linen, uniforms, and other necessary articles
• Assists indelivering linen to closets and storage areas          
• Minimizessafety hazards by following all safety rules and procedures
• Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of allproblems or unusual matters of significance

Other duties may be assigned as needed

Physical Demands & Work Environment 

Whileperforming the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand;walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk orhear and taste or smell.  The employee is frequently required to climb orbalance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, as well as frequently liftingand/or moving up to 50 pounds.  Theemployee must also be able to go up and down a flight of stairs while carrying50 pounds.  The employee is sometimesexposed to outside weather conditions and the noise level in the workenvironment is usually moderate.
