Responsibilities
Position Summary
The Laundry Technician performs commercial laundry production and distribution activities. Responsibilities include sorting, folding, and processing linen, as well as counting, restocking, and delivering inventory carts to various facility departments.
Shift & Schedule
- Hours: Monday – Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM (Evening Shift)
- Lunch: 7:00 PM – 7:45 PM
- Availability: Must be able to work evenings, holidays, and weekends as needed.
- Pay: $11.50 - $12.50/hour
Key Responsibilities
- Production & Folding: Sort, fold, and iron clean laundry according to specifications. Load industrial dryers and manage linen backlogs.
- Inventory & Delivery: Count, restock, and deliver exchange carts to designated department floors and clinical areas.
- Safety & Sorting: Receive and sort soiled linen using proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Inspect linens to ensure high quality control standards.high-quality
- Environment Care: Clean and organize the workspace at the end of the shift, ensuring all linens are properly covered.
Physical Requirements
- Continuous standing, walking, bending, and reaching throughout an 8-hour shift.
- Ability to continuously push and pull heavy linen carts (over 100 lbs.).
- Ability to frequently lift 20 to 40 lbs.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hot, and humid commercial laundry plant environment.
Qualifications
- Experience: 1 year of commercial laundry experience preferred (but not required).
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Communication: Ability to read, write, and speak English to follow workflow instructions and collaborate with the team.
