Laundry Worker I

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Able to sort soiled linen by classifications and sort into specified soil bins.

Feeds clean linen into numerous machines in the flatwork and terry departments.

Inspect linen for rejects during the process, e.g. tears, stains, etc.

Comply with Hotel rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operations of Hotel facilities.

Any other duties as assigned within the scope of this position.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

Demonstrate ability to deal effectively with all department management and staff.

Be organized, flexible and able to handle multiple priorities and deadlines pressures.

Desire to work with people.

Ability to count items numerically.

Ability of simple reading and task completion skills is required.

Must have the following skills: following instructions.

Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekend hours as business needs dictate.

Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.

Any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is constantly standing, occasionally walking, reaching overhead, and bending over during the duration of their shift.

Must be able to occasionally lift/carry and push/pull up to 10lbs or less.

The team member will constantly have repetitive use of both hands and light and firm/strong grasping motions. Finger dexterity of both hands will be constantly required.

Constant use of vision abilities is required including distance, depth perception, field of vision, and color vision.
