    Job Description

    Laundry Worker
     
     
    SUMMARY:  
    Responsible for performing on-site laundry services.  Sort, load, unload and fold laundered items.
     
    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
    1. Sorts, loads/unloads, and folds laundered items.
    2. Ensures that dryer is lint free.
    3. Monitors machines to ensure the correct amount of detergent is being used and machines are operating properly.
    4. Report any damage and/or maintenance deficiencies in need of repair to the supervisor on duty.
    5. Always conduct yourself in a manner that reflects a positive and professional image.
    6. Other duties as assigned.

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
    1. Ability to communicate effectively with guests, team members and management in English in both written and verbal form.
    2. One to two years of commercial laundry experience preferred. Must have knowledge of different types of materials and fabrics in relationship to laundering processes.
    3. Requires regular and predictable attendance
    4. Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with, all departmental policies/service procedures/standards
    5. Must be able to use correct cleaning chemical for laundering process and utilize personal protective equipment in accordance with OSHA hazard communication standard.
     
    WORKING CONDITIONS
    Work may require evening, early morning, holiday and week end schedules. 
    Must be able to bend, squat and kneel throughout assigned shift.
    Must be able to occasionally reach above head in performing job duties. 
    Able to push, pull and carry from 50 to 100 pounds. 
    Must be able to work in a fast paced environment. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
    Work may require working in a noisy area (?)
     
    QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
                EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED (general education degree)
