Lead Accounting Analyst

This is a 12-month contract position for a Lead Accounting Analyst based in White Plains, New York. You will play a key role in the accounting operations, leading month-end close activities and driving process improvements across the finance function.

Responsibilities

• Perform and assist with day-to-day operational accounting and monthly close processes
• Prepare monthly journal entries for assigned areas of responsibility
• Prepare Balance Sheet reconciliations, review journal entries, and conduct financial statement analytics
• Drive continuous improvement and reduce cycle time in the monthly close process through increased utilization of technology and tools, development of standard operating procedures, and other efficiency measures
• Support preparation and distribution of monthly accounting management reports and statistical analysis
• Conduct detailed P&L reviews and analysis
• Collaborate with and support external auditors for annual audit
• Strengthen the company's internal control environment and control processes
• Partner with corporate and operations staff to facilitate variance explanations
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Required

• 5-7+ years of accounting experience

• Strong knowledge and understanding of GAAP accounting policy

• Advanced Excel skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Exceptional organizational skills, timeline management skills, and attention to detail

• Ability to work in a dynamic work environment across multiple geographies

• Strong leadership skills to guide teams and facilitate collaboration

• Ability to engage peers from across the organization and direct/indirect reports

• Ability to multi-task and adapt to a high-growth and fluid environment

• On-site presence required; 5 days per week

• Preferred

• CPA or MBA

• Ownership of accounting operational processes and experience with automation of operational processes

• Knowledge of SAGE 100 accounting systems

• Takes initiative and demonstrates intellectual curiosity
