We are seeking a Lead AWS SaaS Modernization Architect to lead the architecture assessment and modernization of a large-scale cloud-native SaaS platform running on AWS. The role will focus on evaluating the platform against the AWS Well-Architected Framework, including the SaaS Lens and IoT Lens, and delivering a validated reference architecture along with a prioritized remediation roadmap.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct AWS Well-Architected Reviews across Operational Excellence, Reliability, Security, and Performance pillars.
Assess cloud-native microservices architecture deployed on Amazon EKS/Kubernetes.
Evaluate disaster recovery, fault tolerance, multi-AZ resilience, and uptime readiness.
Review SaaS multi-tenancy architecture, including tenant isolation, authorization, routing, and data partitioning.
Apply AWS IoT Lens best practices for large-scale device fleet management, firmware lifecycle, and communication protocols.
Develop target-state reference architecture and modernization recommendations.
Create a prioritized remediation roadmap aligned with business timelines and budget.
Lead architecture workshops and technical discussions with customer engineering and leadership teams.
Collaborate with security and platform teams to validate compliance and platform scalability.
Required Skills
10+ years of cloud architecture experience with AWS.
Strong expertise in AWS Well-Architected Framework, SaaS Lens, and IoT Lens.
Hands-on experience with Amazon EKS, Kubernetes, Docker, and containerized microservices.
Experience with GitOps/CI-CD tools such as Argo CD, BitBucket, and AWS DevOps services.
Deep understanding of multi-tenant SaaS architecture patterns.
Expertise in Reliability Engineering, DR, High Availability, and Observability.
Experience with CloudWatch, AWS X-Ray, distributed tracing, and monitoring solutions.
Strong knowledge of IoT architectures, device lifecycle management, and large-scale fleet operations.
Experience producing architecture assessments, executive reports, and remediation roadmaps.
Excellent stakeholder management and customer-facing communication skills.
Preferred Skills
Utility, Industrial IoT, Smart Metering, or Connected Devices experience.
SOC 2, GDPR, or cloud compliance exposure.
AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional.
Experience supporting large-scale SaaS migration and modernization initiatives.
The pay range for this role is $150,000 - $200,000 per annum including any bonuses or variable pay.
