Position Summary

The Lead Bartender is responsible for the service of all beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Lead Bartenders are responsible for overseeing bar procedures and ensuring all staff are following alcohol service protocols. Lead Bartenders must be personable, professional, and able to work in an ever-changing fast-paced environment. The employee must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work events as scheduled per business need. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, is knowledgeable about a variety of beverages, and is passionate about creating a fun and memorable experience for every guest. Your ability to balance speed, service, and professionalism will help elevate the overall fan experience during every event. This role pays an hourly rate of $10.00-$12.00 and is tip eligible.

About the Venue

In 2014, leaders from Baylor University and the Waco community came together to form a new private club for Baylor alumni and staff, as well as the general Waco professional, civic, and social community. The Baylor Club is unique because it's one of the few private clubs in the nation located on a university campus. Responsibilities

• p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Lead and coordinate the daily activities of bartenders, barbacks, and support staff.
• p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Ensure guests receive prompt, professional, and friendly service.
• p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to company standards.
• p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Monitor drink quality, presentation, portion control, and recipe compliance.
• p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Open and close the bar, including point of sales and end-of-shift procedures.
• p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Handle registers, reconcile sales, and report discrepancies.
• p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering beverages, garnishes, and supplies.
• p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Conduct regular stock counts and minimize waste, breakage, and unauthorized product usage.
• p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Lead, train, and motivate bar staff.
• p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Assist with staff schedules and coordinate break times when required.
• p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Ensure compliance with alcohol-service laws, age-verification procedures, and responsible-service policies.

• p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Check bar equipment and report maintenance or safety issues.
• p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Handle customer complaints and resolve service issues professionally.
• p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Support promotions, events, and special beverage programs.
• p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Prepare operational and sales reports for management.
• p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Ensure compliance with health, safety, and company policies.

Qualifications

• 2+ years'' experience working in a lead capacity in a food and beverage environment. Ability to lead by example.
• High School Diploma or GED. Bartending school preferred.
• Must possess or be willing to obtain a valid food handling certificate and alcohol service certificate prior to working.
• Ability to accurately handle register and revenue collections through a POS system is required.
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
• Ability to meet the company standard of excellence in the areas of guest service, interaction with co-workers, and uniform standards.
• Strong understanding and knowledge of liquor laws.
• Must have the ability to handle guest issues, deescalate them, and report to department supervisors and/or managers.
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to be self-directed and lead a team.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and long hours.
• The employee is frequently required to lift heavy objects.
