The pay range is $95,000.00 - $171,000.00

Store Operations manages and enhances the informational resources for researching and resolving operational issues, while guiding and communicating with the field team and leaders who use them. As a Lead Business Partner, Planning & Delivery - Store Communications, you will define and lead communication strategies that enable stores to successfully execute enterprise priorities. You will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, balancing business objectives, operational realities, and team member experience to deliver clear, coordinated, and actionable communications for Target's store teams.

In this role, you will establish communication planning and governance practices, drive cross-functional alignment, and influence how information is prioritized and delivered to stores. You will champion continuous improvement while ensuring communications support operational excellence and field readiness.

• Lead communication strategy, planning, and delivery for major Store Operations initiatives and enterprise priorities.
• Establish communication governance, prioritization frameworks, and planning routines that ensure stores receive coordinated, actionable, and relevant communications.
• Partner with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to align communication strategies with business objectives and operational goals.
• Influence communication approaches across Store Operations, Field Leadership, HQ teams, and Centers of Excellence to improve execution and team member experience.
• Translate complex business strategies and operational changes into clear communication plans that support field readiness and successful execution.
• Leverage business insights, feedback, and performance metrics to evaluate communication effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
• Identify communication risks, organizational impacts, and execution challenges while developing mitigation strategies that support operational stability.
• Lead communication best practices and process improvements that reduce complexity and improve the effectiveness of store communications.
• Ability to participate in an on-call rotation supporting urgent operational communications, including nights, weekends, holidays, and other non-standard business hours as business needs require.
• Core responsibilities may change based on business needs.

About you:

• Four-year degree or equivalent experience
• 7+ years of experience in communications, communication strategy, employee communications, content strategy, change management, or related disciplines, preferably supporting retail operations or large frontline workforces
• Demonstrated success influencing leaders and driving alignment across complex, highly matrixed organizations
• Experience leading large-scale communication initiatives, operational transformations, or enterprise change efforts
• Strong business acumen with the ability to balance enterprise priorities, operational realities, and team member experience
• Exceptional writing, editing, storytelling, and communication skills
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, and communication planning tools
• Proven ability to evaluate, influence, and drive adoption of AI-enabled capabilities and emerging technologies that improve communication effectiveness, operational efficiency, and team member experience at scale.

Preferred Skills:

• Deep understanding of retail operations, store execution, and frontline team member experience
• Expertise developing and leading enterprise communication strategies for large, distributed workforces
• Advanced writing, editing, and storytelling skills, including experience translating complex business strategies into clear, actionable communications
• Proven ability to serve as a trusted advisor and communications partner to senior leaders
• Strong knowledge of communication governance, prioritization, content strategy, and communication lifecycle management
• Experience leveraging data, feedback, and performance metrics to inform communication strategy and measure effectiveness
• Strong facilitation, stakeholder management, and influence skills in highly matrixed environments
• Experience leading organizational change, business transformation, or large-scale operational initiatives
• Experience coaching, mentoring, and developing communication talent
• Advanced experience with SharePoint, Smartsheet, communication planning tools, and enterprise communication platforms

This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member's core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
