Lead Capital Actuary

National insurance carrier is currently hiring a Lead Capital Actuary for their team. This role will be top modeling expert on the team. The actuary in this role will own the US regulatory capital modeling (particularly NAIC RBC) and will have strong rating agency capital experience. As a senior member of the team, this individual will work directly with the CEO, CRO and CFO for the organization and be responsible for Capital Strategy, Dividend Strategy, Liquidity, Capital Allocation, Capital efficiency, Portfolio optimization and Underwriting strategy. You will be heavily involved with Senior Management, Regulators and Rating Agencies and work closely with ERM on ORSA, Stress Testing, Scenario Analysis, Capital Adequacy and Risk Modeling.  Part of the intrigue with this role is that you will have the opportunity to build out this function, not just operate it!

Requirements

• Ability to model the company's capital position now and forecast it under different business scenarios
• Understand how underwriting, reinsurance, investments, CAT exposure, dividends, etc. affect capital
• Experience with building/managing capital models vs. consumed actuarial outputs

While this is a full in-office role, it can be located in most of the major cities across the U.S.
