A day in the field
You arrive at a customer’s plant to find a brand-new horizontal machining center waiting on the floor. By mid-morning you’ve coordinated with riggers to position the machine. After lunch you’re on the bed with levels and indicators, dialing in geometry, then stepping through control parameters to bring servos, spindles, and subsystems to life. By day’s end, you’ve documented your progress and coached the customer’s operators on safe startup and basic care. This is the rhythm of your week—owning complex CNC installations from touchdown to customer acceptance.
The impact you’ll make
Lead multi-day installs and startup of large CNC mills, lathes, and machining centers after onboarding to Lagun-specific products and processes.
Plan and coordinate rigging and placement; execute precision leveling, alignment, geometry verification, and calibration.
Configure, troubleshoot, and optimize CNC controls and subsystems including servos, spindles, hydraulics, pneumatics, and lubrication systems.
Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues (up to 480V) as well as hydraulic and pneumatic faults.
Interpret electrical schematics, mechanical prints, and technical manuals to drive swift root-cause resolution.
Run accuracy, performance, and acceptance tests prior to sign-off.
Train operators on safety practices and routine maintenance.
Maintain detailed service notes, repair records, parts usage, and recommendations.
Travel to customer sites—often for a full week—to deliver professional, on-site support.
What you bring
Documented success independently installing and commissioning large CNC machine tools.
Hands-on experience with machining centers, mills, or lathes and controls such as Fanuc, Heidenhain, Fagor, Siemens (or comparable).
