PEMCCO is seeking a Lead Computer Engineer to provide technical leadership across the design, integration, testing, deployment, and support of advanced computing, software, hardware, and networking solutions for government and public sector customers.

This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who wants to influence technical strategy, mentor engineering teams, and lead the development of innovative solutions across complex computing environments. Candidates may have experience in areas such as:

Job Overview As a Lead Computer Engineer, you will serve as a senior technical leader responsible for developing engineering solutions, evaluating system architectures, leading integration efforts, and driving technical excellence across the full system lifecycle.

You will collaborate with engineers, developers, system administrators, program leadership, and customers to address technical challenges, improve system performance, and support successful project outcomes.

This role offers the opportunity to influence technical direction, guide engineering teams, and contribute to the successful delivery of complex technology initiatives.

What Youll Do

Lead the design, development, integration, testing, and evaluation of computer systems and related technologies Analyze system requirements and develop engineering solutions that support customer and program objectives Evaluate system architectures and recommend improvements that enhance performance, reliability, scalability, and maintainability Provide technical leadership throughout design, implementation, testing, integration, and sustainment activities Conduct engineering studies, technical analyses, and feasibility assessments Support the development and implementation of hardware, software, and network solutions Review technical designs, specifications, and engineering documentation Identify and resolve complex technical issues across software, hardware, networking, and enterprise environments Support verification, validation, performance testing, and system optimization efforts Ensure engineering solutions comply with applicable standards, requirements, and best practices Coordinate technical efforts across engineering teams and stakeholders Develop technical briefings, reports, recommendations, and presentations for leadership and customers Mentor engineers and technical personnel while promoting engineering excellence and professional development

What You Bring Required Qualifications

Masters degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mathematics with a concentration in Computer Science, or a related technical discipline Ten (10) years of experience in computer engineering, software development, computer systems engineering, networking, computer design, or related technical disciplines Strong knowledge of computer engineering principles and practices Experience developing solutions across hardware, software, and networking environments Experience evaluating system architectures and developing technical strategies Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills Proven ability to lead technical efforts and guide engineering teams Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences Experience developing and reviewing technical documentation and engineering artifacts Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance if required

Preferred Experience

Experience supporting Department of Defense or Federal Government programs Experience leading complex engineering initiatives or technical teams Experience with enterprise computing environments Experience supporting systems integration, testing, and implementation activities Experience reviewing technical architectures and evaluating engineering solutions Experience mentoring engineers and technical personnel Advanced coursework or specialized training in systems engineering, software engineering, networking, systems architecture, or related disciplines
