Lead Environmental Svc Aide

Job Description

Maintains clean, sanitary and orderly condition to the assigned exterior/ interior areas of the Medical Center. Provides guidance and direction to Housekeeping Workers.

Job Responsibility

• • Maintains interior and exterior assigned areas in the Medical Center (i.e., offices, laboratories, bathrooms, public areas, courtyard, etc.) in a clean, sanitary and orderly condition.

• Scours and polishes sinks, showers, bathtubs, tiles, and other bathroom equipment.

• Sweeps and mops areas, and periodically waxes and buffs floors.

• Cleans and dusts furniture, windowsills, mirrors, pictures, ceilings doorframes, wall vents, etc. Polishes furniture and other equipment.

• Washes mattresses, beds, and examining tables.

• Empties trash baskets and other disposals.

• Refills soap and paper goods dispensers, as required.

• Operates floor maintenance equipment, i.e., floor buffing machines, wet vacs, etc.

• Strips and refinishes floors.

• • Provides guidance and direction to Housekeeping Workers including:

• Assigns work to subordinates.

• Responds to questions from Housekeeping Workers.

• Reports to supervisor on performance and progress of Housekeeping workers, as requested.

• • May assist in transporting heavy items within the Medical Center.

• Performs related duties, as required.

Job Qualification

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• Minimum of one (1) year experience as Housekeeping worker, required.
• Ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions. Ability to operate and to instruct subordinates in use of housecleaning devices and equipment.
