Lead Facilities Maintenance Technician

Structure Resources is seeking a high-performing Lead Facilities Maintenance Technician for an exciting opportunity with our client, an established Indianapolis-based general contractor with more than 40 years of experience.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced maintenance or construction professional to take ownership of building repairs and facility maintenance while working with a respected company that values quality, teamwork, and long-term career growth.

Responsibilities:

• Inspect buildings, equipment, and facilities to identify needed repairs and maintenance.

• Troubleshoot issues and determine the appropriate repairs or corrective actions.

• Perform general building repairs, including drywall, painting, doors, fixtures, appliances, plumbing, and light electrical work.

• Perform general carpentry and construction repairs using hand and power tools.

• Complete routine maintenance on building systems and facilities.

• Read and interpret building blueprints, plans, and equipment manuals as needed.

• Assist with facility upkeep and maintain clean, safe, and functional work areas.

• Order and maintain supplies and materials necessary to complete repairs and maintenance.

• Provide guidance and support to other maintenance personnel as needed.

• Travel to various customer and project locations, primarily throughout the Indianapolis metropolitan area, with occasional travel outside the Indianapolis area.

• Follow company safety procedures and maintain a professional relationship with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of related experience in commercial construction, residential construction, facilities maintenance, or apartment maintenance.

• Strong knowledge of general carpentry, construction, and building repairs.

• Experience with drywall and metal studs is a plus.

• Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, painting, doors, fixtures, and general building maintenance.

• Ability to troubleshoot problems and determine appropriate repair solutions.

• Ability to safely and effectively use hand tools and power tools.

• Strong organizational and time-management skills.

• Ability to work independently while also following direction from supervisors and working as part of a team.

• Valid driver's license and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).

• Ability to pass a background check, if required.

• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

• Ability to climb ladders, bend, kneel, crawl, and work in confined or awkward spaces.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds.

• Ability to perform hands-on maintenance and repair work in a variety of environments.
