The Lead works closely with Superintendents, Field Engineers, Project Managers, and the Sector Project Controls Manager to provide reliable project information, identify risks and opportunities, and support project performance.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
    Progress, Cost Control & Forecasting
    • Verify reported quantities and progress against drawings, as-built records, and daily site walkdowns.
    • Prepare cost reports, earned value analysis, productivity reporting (including CPI and PF), and ETC/EAC forecasts for labor, equipment, materials, and subcontracts.
    • Prepare and distribute daily and weekly reports on progress, productivity, and cost to the project team.
    • Validate timesheets, cost coding, purchase orders, commitments, and subcontractor costs.
    • Identify cost variances, schedule risks, and productivity trends early, and raise them with Superintendents and Project Managers before they impact project cost or schedule, along with recommended corrective actions.
    • Meet regularly with Superintendents and Project Managers to review progress, cost, and forecast results and keep field and project teams aligned.
    • Coordinate with the project scheduler to validate progress, production rates, and schedule impacts.

    Contract Billing & Change Management
    • Track unit-rate contract quantities, production rates, and pricing to support accurate cost forecasting and progress billing.
    • Track time-and-materials (T&M) work, including labor, equipment, materials, daily tickets, and supporting documentation.
    • Prepare and review billing packages, validating quantities, rates, and supporting documentation against contract requirements and verified progress.
    • Track potential changes, extra work, and unit-price additions through documentation, pricing, approval, and billing.
    • Support change orders, claims, delay analysis, and recovery of additional costs.

    Equipment, Materials & Project Closeout
    • Review equipment, materials, and subcontractor records for accurate cost tracking and forecasting.
    • Coordinate with the project team and Subcontracts group to resolve cost, scope, and contract administration issues.
    • Support project startup, cost-code setup, reporting improvements, and closeout, including final quantity reconciliation and cost reporting.

    Team Leadership
    • Coordinate daily priorities and workload for onsite Field Project Controls Analysts.
    • Train, mentor, and review the work of analysts for accuracy and completeness.
    • Serve as the primary site contact for project controls and promote a strong safety culture.

Note: In addition to these duties personnel are required to carry out such other duties as may be reasonably required in order to support the objectives of the company.

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS
    Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field, or equivalent field experience.
    • Valid driver’s license required.

    Experience
    • Minimum of 6 years of experience in field project controls, scheduling, or construction management, including 2 years in a lead, senior, or supervisory capacity.
    • Experience on large-scale construction projects, ideally in pipeline, civil, facilities, or solar work.
    • Hands-on experience with cost control, forecasting, earned value, productivity analysis, and change management.
    • Experience with contract billing, unit-rate contracts, T&M work, and change order documentation.

    Skills and Knowledge
    • Strong leadership, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
    • Working knowledge of contracts, construction drawings, progress measurement, cost coding, and forecasting.
    • Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively with field crews in remote construction environments.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, cost tracking and scheduling software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.

    WORKING CONDITIONS
This is a field-based position requiring daily onsite presence. Travel and/or temporary accommodation may be necessary. Per-dem provided if applicable. The role requires a 6-days-on, 1-day-off schedule with 10-hour shifts for the duration of the project. Candidates must be comfortable working in varied weather conditions, rugged terrain, and active construction environments while following WHC safety requirements.
