Lead Fire Alarm Technician
The Lead Fire Alarm Technician is responsible for overseeing installation, maintenance, inspection, and troubleshooting of fire alarm systems while leading a team of technicians to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and lead a team of 4 fire alarm technicians on daily service and project activities
- Install, program, test, inspect, and repair fire alarm systems and related equipment
- Ensure all work complies with NFPA codes, local regulations, and company standards
- Coordinate project scheduling, materials, and workload assignments
- Provide technical guidance, training, and performance feedback to team members
- Interface with customers, inspectors, and project managers to ensure successful project delivery
- Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, service work, and system performance
- Diagnose and resolve complex system issues efficiently
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in fire alarm installation, service, and troubleshooting
- NICET certification (preferred) or state equivalent
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Solid knowledge of NFPA 72 and fire/life safety systems
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as needed
