MITRE's N114 Resilient Warfighter Space Services Department is committed to ensuring resilient space capabilities that enable joint warfighting across all domains. Roles & Responsibilities:
N114 Department is seeking an experienced Lead GPS Space Systems Engineer to serve as the primary interface and technical lead to the Space Systems Command PNT program office as a part of our Space Capabilities Division team. The ideal candidate will bring a comprehensive understanding of GPS operations and the broader enterprise, including space vehicle operations, spacecraft command and control, navigation message implementation, signal-in-space performance, telemetry, tracking and commanding (TT&C), constellation management, cybersecurity, cryptographic key management, and operational readiness.
As the primary interface and trusted advisor to the government, the successful candidate will demonstrate independent technical assessments, systems engineering, and mission-focused recommendations for sponsors' most challenging problems. Additionally, the candidate will collaborate with multiple sponsors, project leaders, and a team of multidisciplinary engineers and SMEs.
This position is located at the Peterson Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, Co, where you'll play a crucial part in shaping the future of GPS by supporting various aspects of its development. Your work directly contributes to mission continuity, operational effectiveness, and the long-term evolution of the GPS enterprise. Responsibilities may include some or all of the following:
