Lead Groomer & Operations Manager

Sutro Grooming is a mobile dog grooming company in San Francisco.

We're looking for a Lead Groomer & Operations Manager to help build Sutro from the first van up. You'll groom about 3 days a week and spend the rest of your time running the business day to day: hiring and training groomers, keeping the schedule full, keeping the vans running, and making sure every client has a great experience. You'll get real ownership and support on marketing, software and back office, and you'll grow with the company as we add vans.

Pay is $80,000 a year depending on experience, plus a performance bonus and 100% of your grooming tips. This is a full-time role.

What you will do

• Groom about 3 days a week and set the quality bar for the team
• Hire, train and coach new groomers, including running working interviews
• Own the weekly schedule and routes so vans stay full and on time
• Keep the vans maintained, stocked and ready to go
• Be the go-to person for client questions, special requests and any issues
• Track a few simple weekly numbers: dogs groomed, rebooking rate and reviews
• Help grow the business locally through vets, apartment buildings, dog parks and neighborhood events

What we are looking for

• 3+ years of professional dog grooming experience
• Experience leading or training other groomers, or running a grooming business or salon
• Confident with all coat types and with nervous or difficult dogs
• Organized and comfortable with scheduling apps and simple spreadsheets
• Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and comfortable driving a van in SF
• Calm, clear communicator with owners and teammates
• Excited to help build something, not just keep it running
