Job Description
The Lead Infrastructure Engineer – Linux/Windows, Ansible is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-grade infrastructure solutions across Linux and Windows environments. This role blends systems engineering, automation, and software development to support large-scale IT operations within a governed enterprise environment.
The engineer will focus on infrastructure automation, OS-agnostic system design, and integration of modern tooling using Ansible, Python, and scripting technologies. This position requires strong collaboration with cross-functional teams, adherence to formal change control processes, and contribution to continuous improvement initiatives in an Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable infrastructure tools and enterprise software solutions
• Automate system administration tasks using Ansible, PowerShell, shell scripting, and Python
• Develop and integrate Python-based automation utilities
• Design and implement secure, scalable API integrations
• Support and integrate system software across Linux (RHEL) and Windows environments
• Conduct code reviews, testing, and post-implementation validation
• Create and maintain technical documentation, specifications, and migration packages
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in both new and legacy systems
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and continuous improvement efforts

Required Qualifications
Required Skills & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field and 8+ years of professional DevOps or software engineering experience
• Strong foundation in computer science principles (data structures, algorithms, software design)
• Hands-on experience with Linux (RHEL) and Windows systems
• Proficiency with Ansible for automation
• Strong scripting skills using PowerShell and shell scripting
• Experience with Python for infrastructure automation
• Working knowledge of Active Directory and Microsoft Intune
• Experience working in large IT estates with formal change control and governance
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Familiarity with cloud and hybrid infrastructure environments
• Experience with the Red Hat ecosystem (Satellite, RHEL)
• Strong collaboration and communication skills in Agile teams

Business Knowledge
• Experience partnering directly with business stakeholders
• Exposure to client reporting or financial data systems
