To assist in the maintenance of an orderly, safe and pleasant atmosphere in the cafeteria by helping and supervising students at mealtime.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises students in the cafeteria during meals.
Maintains a system for orderly food purchase by pupils, disposal of food waste, and return of trays and utensils.
Sees that students are seated in assigned areas.
Circulates among the tables during mealtime so as to be available to children who need help or to resolve any minor problems that arise.
Informs the assigned teacher of any serious infractions of discipline rules by students.
Ensures the cleanliness of tables and surrounding areas.
Organizes groups for orderly dismissal from the cafeteria.
Assists with hallway line-up of students during lunch distribution.
Assists in the enforcement of rules and regulations as established by the district to maintain appropriate student management both within the lunchroom and the playground.
Assists students' use of lavatory facilities during all lunch periods as needed.
Assists the principal in the scheduling of cafeteria/playground assistants.
Assists the principal in the supervision of cafeteria/playground assistants.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Salary: $29.61 per hour in accordance with the district's WBEA salary guide.
