Job Description Summary: 

Under the general supervision of a licensed provider, as a Medical Assistant, oversee the day-to-day operations and training of the medical assistants. Delegate workload to Medical Assistants scheduled in your location, manage shift breaks, and ensure all daily back-office tasks are completed. Communicate with the Providers, Lead Receptionist, Lab Collectors, and Medical Assistants for efficiency and flow of the office. We are seeking motivated individuals who show excellent communication skills. Must be able to problem-solve and multitask as we are a fast-paced practice. Gain skill and knowledge of organization policies and procedures in support of the department.  

 

This job is a full-time, benefited position at Summit Spine & Joint Centers that reports to the Assistant Operations Manager. This position’s primary locations will be for region 3 clinic locations (see below) and are subject to change based on coverage/business needs and ASC operating hours. 

 

Region 3 Operating Schedule:  

Braselton (ASC): Monday & Wednesday - Friday 8am-5pm 

Winder: Tuesday & Friday 8am-5pm 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Conduct morning huddles.
  • Ensure prenoting is being completed.
  • Ensure Medical Assistants are working up multiple rooms.
  • Train new Medical Assistants (when applicable).
  • Enter all injection orders for all patients.
  • Ensure all orders are entered into ECW and sent to the appropriate personnel (e.g., MRI, X-ray, outgoing referrals, DME).
  • Ensure psychological evaluation forms are sent to the appropriate personnel.
  • Dispense DME braces.
  • Communicate with and assist patients with questions that Medical Assistants may not be able to address.
  • Ensure Medical Assistants complete all parts of the patient notes (e.g., HPI, MIPS).
  • Discharge patients per the provider's request (e.g., noncompliant patients).
  • Assist with upset patients and patient concerns; contact the Manager for assistance when necessary.
  • Assist the Manager with the weekly DME inventory.
  • Report any back-office misconduct to the Manager (e.g., tardiness, lack of efficiency, excessive phone use).
  • Monitor the overall flow of the office and provide assistance where necessary.
  • Complete any additional tasks requested by management.

 

Skills And Abilities: 

Must be willing to travel to other locations 

Detail-oriented 

Willingness to cross-train on all other clinical responsibilities including but not limited to MA/Fluoro tasks. 

Education And Experience: 

Experience using EClinicalWorks or other EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems preferred 

1-year clinical experience preferred 

Bachelor's Degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
